I have an iPhone and often use cases that I bought from AliExpress which have MagSafe, but they don't hold well at all. I have an original iPhone case with MagSafe and it holds very well, no complaints. The iPhone itself without a case holds just as well, but the Chinese cases that have a magnet are very weak and this stand can't hold the case with the phone on it and it just falls off. So either buy a really cool case with a strong magnet or use it without a case at all.
